A new Los Angeles based burlesque troupe is having open auditions for new performers. Our troupe is updating the art of burlesque for the 21st Century. Much more than polished strip-tease, we believe that modern performers should not be limited by the music and moves of the past, but should be able to bring their own style to art.

In this round of auditions, we're seeking performers (male and female) with a background in dance, with some exerience in strip tease preferred. Examples are:

  • Ballet
  • Broadway/Cabaret
  • Hip Hop
  • Swing/Lindy hop with Aerials
  • Acro Dance
  • Anything else you can make look really sexy. Cheerleading, acrobatics, rhymic gymnastics... the sky is the limit.

If you would like to audition, please be prepared with the following:

  1. Your completed application
  2. A performance no longer than 3 minutes
  3. Bring your music on an MP3 player or a CD
  4. Come prepared to audition in stage-ready costume and make-up/hair. (you may change clothes on site)
  5. Be prepared to introduce yourself to the panel and talk about your skills and why you would like to be part of a troupe
  6. Bring a head-shot or promo photo if you have one

During your audition, you will rated on the following criteria:

  • Personality
  • Performance Quality
  • Dance Ability
  • Originality
  • Stage Presence
  • Personal Presentation
    • Dance/Performance
    • Costume
    • Body
    • Face

Each member of the troupe can perform solos and group numbers, and will be able to continue their own personal careers independent of the troupe. Membership in the troupe will based on your audition and your ability to commit to following:

  1. Participation in 2 rehearsals a week.  Every Sunday afternoon from 6pm to 10pm, and one weeknight per week. Approximately 5 hours per week.
  2. Participation in support activities for the troupe, such as costuming, prop building, fund raiseing, etc.
  3. Agreement to abide by the rules of the troupe.
